Local Attractions
Situated as we are in North Gloucestershire we are centrally placde for any events within the three counties of Gloucestershire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire.

Main yearly events ; Three counties Show at Malvern, Cheltenham Music and Literary Festivals, National Hunt Festival and Gold Cup Event at Cheltenham Racecourse and the Three Choirs Music Festival held each year in one of the Cathedrals. Prescott Hill Climbs

Things to see and do in the area


The Cotswolds, Beautiful towns and villages, Laurie Lee “Cider with Rosie” country.

The Royal Forest of Dean. The Malvern Hills and towns. An area designated as of outstanding natural beauty.

The Wye Valley, beautiful scenery and the River Wye flowing through it. One of the best salmon rivers in England.
 


 

The Severn River with its amazing Severn Bore. Another fine salmon river.
 

 

Castles and Abbeys;

Sudeley Castle, Home of Henry V111’s last wife Katherine Parr. This has events and concerts throughout the year.

Eastnor Castle, a wonderful 19th century gothic building set in splendid countryside again with open air events throughout the Summer.

Berkeley Castle, A privately owned castle which has been in the same family for over 700 years. The scene of King Edward 11’s murder.

Snowshill, Hidcote Gardens, Ragley Hall, Tintern Abbey, Hailes Abbey and Tewkesbury Abbey are all within easy reach. Also Gloucester cathedral with the finest fan-vaulting in the country.

Outdoor Activities


Gloucester Docks ,the National Waterways Museum and the Gloucester Regiment Museum are all a short drive away.

Nature in Art with exhibitions and Artists in residence throughout the year.

Several large vineyards are all within easy reach. These have excellent restaurants, wine-tasting and sales.

 

Weston’s family Cider Production at Much Marcle. This again has a good restaurant, testing's etc.

Newent Falconry Centre and the “Shambles” Museum of Victorian England.

There are also excellent theatres in the are ; Pre- London productions at the Malvern Theatres, The Bristol Hippodrome, Bristol Old Vic with its original 17th Century interior and the Everyman Theatre in Cheltenham

Finally for those searching for adventure there is “Tiger Airways” which specialises in flights in Tiger moths.
